6-year MD Program Asklepios

Upon completion of MD Program in PUM you get awarded with an academic degree: Master’s Degree (MA). You will receive a diploma of higher education. The professional title of yours will be: lekarz (MD)
Poland, as a member of European Union, shall remain in full force and effect of the Directive 2005/36/EU of the European Parliament and of the Council of 7 September 2005 (later amended by Directive 2013/55/EU) on the recognition of professional qualifications. Pomeranian Medical University in Szczecin offers curriculum compatible with EU directives including ECTS system.
Pomeranian Medical University in Szczecin offers about 30 seats at the Medicine major for Asklepios Program candidates. This program is open to German nationals.
The curriculum in Medicine consists of six years of studies. First three years of studies are oriented on such sciences as: Morphological sciences; Scientific basis of medicine and Preclinical sciences.
First, second and third year of studies are semester-based. The language of instruction during year 1, 2 and 3 is English. The classes are conducted at Pomeranian Medical University in Szczecin and in its two clinical hospitals. Asklepios Program students have additional classes (seminars and practical classes) conducted by German doctors from Asklepios Klinikum Uckermark GmbH (both at PUM in Szczecin and in Asklepios hospital in Schwedt).
Fourth and fifth year of studies are conducted in a so-called block system. Those two years of studies are focused on the following four domains: Behavioral sciences with elements of professionalism; Clinical sciences; Clinical sciences with patients’ treatment; Legal and organizational basis of medicine.
Sixth year of studies will comprise of practical training only (30 weeks) in the following fields of medicine:
- Internal medicine
- Paediatrics
- Surgery
- Gynecology and Obstetrics
- Psychiatry
- Emergency medicine
- Family medicine
- 6 weeks of the specialty/discipline chosen by the student.

Fourth, fifth and sixth year of studies are disigned to offer the student the possibility to train and study in Germany (fluency in German is required). Seminars and practical classes are held in Asklepios hospitals in Schwedt and in Pasewalk. This enables students the contact with German doctor and patients.
Last year of studies will finish with Physicians Final Examination.
